Growing Pains ~ 30 Jul 2013

Well, the grand sextile is over and its components now disassemble as the natural movements in the sky above proceeds. All inspired and fired up? Good. Now the Universe has quite the question for you: What have you done for me lately?

Perhaps you felt an edgy undercurrent regardless of the highly touted harmony of the grand sextile. That was Mars opposing Pluto as the exact formation this pattern came into precise alignment over the past days. While it was there, front and center, few wanted to spend a lot of time discussing the strange, skin-crawling feeling. Why rain on such a lovely celestial parade? No worries. We’re through the Mars opposition to Pluto (precise last Saturday). Now we’re onto other powerful, cranky transits.

There’s nothing like a little edge to get life moving again. So get ready to build upon the Mars-Pluto foreshadowing. Tomorrow Mars squares Uranus in Aries. As August unfolds Jupiter adds his embellishment to the ground-breaking work Mars put down while engaging with Pluto and Uranus. On August 7, Jupiter opposes Pluto, and on the 16th, Jupiter squares Uranus.

I could post a litany of things that might go awry... political upheaval, religious controversies, strange goings on, asylum cases running amok (amuck), debate about drones, etc. etc. Perhaps the best use of time would be to apply these powerful upcoming transits to activating the simmering stew pot left behind by the harmonious grand sextile only hours ago for each of us personally.

As noted in my last post, a grand sextile consists of two grand trines - closed loop systems of planetary energy. Sometimes a grand trine provides inspiration. Then one stares at the wall with wonder and awe following the inspiration. The upcoming growing pains transits declare, “Okay, you’ve stared at the wall and savored your brilliance. Now, if you want to be a player in making the world a better place in the solar system, which makes our solar system a better place in our galaxy, and in our galaxy’s local group ad infinitum, mind boggle-itum, get off your ass. Put the ball in play and go the entire nine innings (it is still baseball season in America, and baseball is a primary professional sport without a clock), never admitting defeat, realizing it ain’t over until it’s over.” Yes, remain receptive to an extra-inning affair.

Let’s walk this array of gear-grinding aspects though a logic filter.

Last weekend as Mars squared Pluto, didn’t life factors such as the powers that be, the way things are, tradition unmarred by progress, crawl under your skin and set up irritating camp? Good. That’s step one. Rent the movie Network. Give Howard Beale his due. Be mad as hell and not willing to take it anymore. That was the idea behind Occupy Wall Street; however there’s a matter of effectual action and needs insertion as a variable into the equation of evolution.

Here comes Mars to square Uranus in the next hours. This can be testy, annoying, disruptive, challenging, contentious, aggressive, incendiary and more. But it gets wheels moving and establishes inertia. Perhaps a note or two from various hexagrams of the I-Ching stirred together: It must be time for change, change must be free of unselfish motivations and very relevant to cranky Mars and non-mainstream Uranus while applicable for the good of all, and change works better from within to without. Change is best applied to what is in place instead of blowing up that bridge and not being able to get to the other side while new construction is in progress.

Jupiter next rolls along into the tense aspect fray. After the rally cry of Mars has been heard, you might actually get a sit down with the big guys... again, as long as alienation was not the agenda of the Mars-Uranus quadrature. This is a behind the scenes meeting with those who can make stuff happen. Of course, they ask the most difficult question ever: What is your fail-proof plan and what fail-safes do you have for us? Yeah, what is the plan?

Coming up with a plan at this Jupiter-Pluto point (the end of the first week of August) is too late. Hastily thrown together plans or shoot-from-the-hip proposals will reek of Katzenjammer, cattywumpus and possible mayhem. They will be shot down on the spot. To meet this “have an awesome, polished plan” time slot, use the transits now. For every annoying, aggravating, back jarring speed bump on your life issue platter, come up with three possible alternatives. Why three? Three pleases Virgo where Venus and Orcus (and Logos and Makemake, too) transit. Three also pleases Mercury, who in a few days comes up to square with Eris (Aug 3).

More on Eris next week, for now pay attention to feelings of exclusion and avoid overreacting.

Pitch alternatives as solutions, leaving the problem the solutions solve out of the discussion. Be upbeat. Be full of “can do” consciousness. Be enthusiastic.

Then, back off. Retreat and chill. Let the percolation process mature within the psyches of the powers that be. After a week and a day, come August 16th, it’s cool to re-approach. Here’s a few details to keep in mind as you go back to the well seeking to draw from its wealth.

Receptivity to real solutions is in the air.

Not all offered solutions will be accepted, and many of the solutions applied will not be used in totality. Later when it is realized total use would have been better, you will need to restrain yourself from any blurting out “told you so” declarations.

When the door opens, be aware of the urge to go for a mile when given an inch.

When your idea is accepted, purchased, included, stop talking.

Again, here’s the deal: The universe is asking, “what have you done for me lately?”

If you respond, odds are good massive progress can be made in your personal life and the sphere of influence you have carved out for yourself. You know what to do. Be a squeaky wheel, put the oil of remedy on yourself and show the process of making things better by being a good example.

Have fun... next week's topic: Social inclusion and evolutionary exclusion.
